The Katy Cowgirls
We'd love to have you on the team!
About the Katy Cowgirls
The Katy Cowgirls are a KISD organization, a drill team on horses, and for 80 years we've been representing our hometown and school district at various community events. We ride our beautiful horses at local parades like the Rice Harvest Parade and the Katy Rodeo Parade. We perform our routines at local rodeos like the Katy Rodeo, the KISD Special Needs Rodeo, and sometimes even the Houston Rodeo! We also participate in multiple charity events in the area.
The Katy Cowgirls are committed to teaching leadership skills and cultivating servant-hearts in these girls as they do much more than ride horses and wave flags. We serve at and raise money for local charities and seek to lend a hand in our community when opportunity arises.

Our team is made up of 20+ girls from all over KISD, and the girls range in age from 8 to 18. We accept girls of all riding levels, as we hope to be a teaching and learning team. Girls can serve as alternates as long as they can walk, trot, and almost lope. While some of the girls own their horse, many lease their horse from local Katy residents.

Riding Proud Since 1943
“Cowgirls are brave, adventurous and ever embracing their love for horses and an audacious lifestyle that is fast becoming obsolete."
Anita Mancini, Long-time Katy Cowgirls Director
Don't Forget Our Cowhands
We can always use the help of young cowboys to come alongside the Katy Cowgirl efforts. Our Cowhands lend their servant hearts and strong hands to help our Cowgirls at practices, parades, performances, and more. Tell the young cowboys in your life about this opportunity!
We're an organization of Katy Independent School District.
